Week Six - Break!

Next week is week five of this module, and the break week for students.

Enjoy New Zealand, the Waitomo Caves are one of our tourist spots, about 2 hours drive south of Auckland.

If you are having any trouble with your assessments, please speak to your tutor, they are very willing to help you. If you get the assessment correct with no MER, you have more time and so does the tutor!

Week Five - Graduation

Next week is week five of this module, and the following week is a break week for all students.

There is one class out in clinical, and two in class. The graduation for some of the December and February graduates is also this Monday at 3pm. If you wish to attend please let Niki know for seating and catering numbers.

From the next clinical, we will be moving to a new uniform for all new students. Also there is a black winter jacket available for purchase which you can wear in class/clinical. It will be the only garment you will be permitted to wear over your clinical uniform top (no hoodies etc.).

Waitangi Day

Don’t forget that tomorrow is a public holiday! It is Waitangi Day, and we celebrate the 175th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi.

We also have now accreditation to deliver a level 7 Diploma in Health (Advanced) (Applied Management). This programme will most likely be starting in either April or May depending on enrolments.

This next module is a short module of only 5 weeks as we adjust to a new programme of delivery. There is a new calendar for everyone reflecting your new dates for modules and breaks.

Break Week

Next week is a break week for all students. Staff may be in at certain times of the week, but if you need to see one of them, please email them first and make an appointment or you may be disappointed and they are not here when you come in.

All classes resume on their normal days in the week of the 9th February.

Four of the Foundation class moving to module classes will need to be here on the 9th Feb, as that is when their classes are on.

Auckland Anniversary Weekend

I hope everyone is now settled back into class and clinical after our Christmas break. This weekend is Auckland Anniversary Weekend and Auckland is celebrating its 175th birthday! The Academy will not be open on Monday, and there are no classes. Auckland is putting on a weekend of fun and activities, which are far to numerous to mention. One of the high points will be the fireworks display on the habour on Sunday night, and the HMNZS Otago (warship) is having an open weekend for people who wish to go aboard the navy frigate for a tour.

Next module we are having our student council meeting with management on the 11th February. A class rep from each class will be required to attend the meeting with any feedback/ requests from their class.
